When Surgery is Required for Treating Infertility?

In many cases, there are many complications which require overcoming through infertility by various nonsurgical means. However, surgery is an option to ensure couples best chance of entering parenthood. The term infertility is not only used for women’s in today’s era, it’s both male and female partner who contribute towards infertility issues.  The surgical treatments for infertility are more common in the environment and it is all due to the advancement in the medical technology.

Female’s surgical options for female are as follows:

Laparoscopy: it is a surgical procedure which includes a small, fiber telescope which is inserted through incision near navel. This telescope is very useful for removal of pelvic cavity; remove ovarian cysts and many more. This procedure includes several other procedures such as:

  • Tuboplasty
  • Ovarian cystectomy
  • Endometriosis treatment
  • Myomectomy
  • lysis

Hysteroscopy: this is more or less same procedure as laparoscopy which performs for removing ovarian cysts. Hysteroscopy procedures include the following:

  • Lysis
  • Myomectomy
  • Correction of abnormalities in congenital in uterus area.

Hydrosalpinx removal: blockage in fallopian tubes is removed through this process as this creates obstruction in pregnancy, and hydrsalpinx increases the rates of ivf success and pregnancies.

Reanastomosis: also called fallopian tube sterilization reversal procedure, helps in connecting two previously disconnected ends of fallopian tubes in order to reverse sterilization.

The surgical options available for male:

Testicular biopsy:  this procedure includes removal of several testicular tissues and examination of sperm which is later used for fertility treatments and procedure.

Microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration: MESA is the procedure needle is inserted to locate area of sperm.

Vasectomy reversal: this procedure is done to restore male’s ability to release sperm.
